I need a door.
Strange request here, but does anyone have a spare door sitting around that they would give away, or sell for a nomial fee?
See, my current rental has great space for two living rooms, only all the sound out of one seems to bounce around and funnel into the second. So anytime I want to watch a movie or anything, and the other room is being utilized (which has been about 28 of the last 30 nights), the extra sound drives me effin nuts and and I can't focus on whatever movie I'm trying to watch. It has a door frame going into it, which would be enough to kill the sound, just no door to actually block it.
And type of wood/color/finish/condition will do. It only needs to exist for about the next seven-eleven months, at which point I'll be dumping it, or burning it. Standard interior door size. Current ones measure at ~31.5 inches x ~79 inches.
You'd be doing me the great service of being able to get actual value out of my Netflix account by being able to watch more then 1-2 movies a month.

Try the flea market in Superior, they had a million doors for next to nothing... Windows, and lots of other stuff too.
Just go down Tower Ave until you hit KFC. Take a right and then there are usually some signs to follow from there.

Try the flea market in Superior.. They had tons of windows and doors for very cheap.

Another option is the Re-use center on the West side of town. It is right off of 35 on the frontage road. (only open a few days a week).. I think it is around 30th ave.. ?

I have a nice heavy wooden door, unfortunately it's been situated in my basement in close proximity to the litter box for the past 10 years! (Eeeeewwww - sorry!)
Maybe some AJAX and a little elbow grease...
Let Paul know if you want it and he'll give you my contact info!

Sweet. Is this flea market only open on weekends or something crazy like that? I'd hate to drive way over there and have it be closed.
I'll check that out first. if there are a million of them, I might even be able to find one that matches the frame color.

Mine's kind of a puke green.

You know. I actually imagined your door to be an ugly green color for some reason. :D

Yeah, and that's without the fine patina of Tidy Cat that's liberally dusted all over it.
I noticed that you were just panting to get it! ;-)

I have one that kinda close with a small window and half the paint stripped off. You can have it.

I believe the flea market Fountainhead is referring to is on Elmira Street, across the railroad tracks from Tower Avenue.
Take Tower Avenue south to 28th Street. Turn right on 28th, go over the tracks, and turn right on Elmira.
The Elmira Street flea market is much more down and dirty than the one on Winter St. I know it's open on Saturdays.

what this town needs is a good old fashioned swap meet.
